Tom Caruana (an underground mash up king in my mind) has done it again with this sick mixtape blending some of the most celebrated artists of all time, Wu-Tang and Hendrix. Last year Caruana dropped Wu-Tang vs. The Beatles , an awesome blend of The Beatles and Wu-Tang Clan, but it seems Curuana has outdone himself here. In my opinion, this mashup mixtape is one of the best since Danger Mouse‘s The Grey Album, which blended The Black Album by Jay-Z with The White Album by The Beatles. I personally love this mixtape because I’ve always respected Jimi Hendrix more then most musicians. He has left a lasting impact on music that has traversed 40 years, inspiring even today’s emerging artists, and besides that he is fuckin’ left handed, it may not mean a lot to you, but I personally being a Left handed thought this was amazing when i first learned it. Also, he absolutely shreds on guitar (obviously). The Wu-Tang Clan is similar to Hendrix in that they have managed to inspire entire decades of hip-hop artists. When I heard this mixtape it really hit home for me, and I know there are legions of Wu-Tang and Hendrix fans out there who will feel the same effect. Check out the awesome album art below:
