I just discovered this beatmaker from Australia today and I’m already obsessed with his instrumentals. Regan ‘Ta-ku’ Mathews is a beat making genius, picking up where  J. Dilla  left off. The first track I heard from this guy was “Around the World“. It has cool synth lines, dope back beats and an overall amazing texture but it just left me wanting more. After listening to his tracks for about an hour or so I was completely blown away. He does more then just make music. He takes you somewhere with it. A magical place that’s even better when you’re under the influence of marijuana. It’s relaxing, thought provoking and inspiring. To top it off, Ta-Ku (not sure how it’s pronounced) has gained recognition for his astounding beats. In 2008, he was invited to the exclusive Red Bull Music Academy. Also he was chosen as soundclouder of the day like a week or so ago. His releases are all amazing. Especially his tribute to the one and only J. Dilla entitled “50 Days for J Dilla” in which he made a beat a day for 50 days straight. You gotta hear this dude for yourself.
