Lupe Fiasco just unleashed the killer new music video for “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” directed by Alexander Nazi. The first set of visuals off Lu’s upcoming album features a bunch of psychedelic shenanigans with the homie and some cartoons. From sporting camo overalls to some fresh bling, Lupe takes us around his way cruising in a Lambo as well as kicking it in the cut, buying a 40 Oz, and rocking some blinding demonic eyes; this video is all over the place but pretty damn ill. It reminds me a lot of The Cool Kid’s “Rush Hour Traffic” video with the mixture of colorful cartoons and actual footage. If this video doesn’t grab your attention, then I don’t know what will. Peep the visuals below for Lupe Fiasco’s “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” and get amped for Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album to drop September 25th.
Check out the original song “Today” by Tom Scott, that was sampled by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth for “T.R.O.Y.” back in the day, and then once again for this song (Sample starts at 1:38);
