Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize is a fucking monster behind the decks. His style of electro is so outrageously dope. I drop mad Boys Noize tracks whenever I do a set and they’re always crowd bangers, but you wouldn’t expect it. His last album “Power” was a crazy combination of distorted synth lines and the best drums a machine can make. I got the chance to see pictures of Boys Noize’s studio in Berlin and that shit is ridiculous. He’s all about hardware in a world filled with computer production. Boys Noize’s music makes me think he listened to a lot of Beastie Boys (RIP MCA). I think that because I listen to mad Beastie Boys. Just funky, loud swinging drum machine music that’s just as awesome as rock n roll. I just listened to track number 1 from his new album. I love how he’s breaking the mold of electronic music and staying true to his 80′s roots. This dude is doing what all those other “EDM” producers are afraid to do. Instead of making his drums completely on the grid and clean in his new song he loosens them up and makes them really dirty. It almost has a hip hop feel to it. It’s got a Daft Punk and Beastie Boys vibe to it, but immediately is distinguishably as Boys Noize. I don’t know what else to say. This is what electronic music should be. Can’t wait for the album.
