Here is Lupe’s new single off of Food and Liquor 2. Definitely a drastic turn from the formula he used on Lasers; abandoning his “poppy” sound and returning to his traditional roots. Lupe touches on a variety of controversial topics (war, poverty, etc.) as well as exhibiting the playful lyricism that gained him so many fans. It has a classic hip-hop sound, sampling Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y”. Can’t wait for this album to drop.

Lil’ Wayne – Celebrate
DJ Clue premiered this new track from Wayne, which I believe is still an unfinished version. It is definitely a new direction for the rapper, who has recently been absent from the spotlight. He decided to create a positive, uplifting song that is unlike anything that was on Tha Carter IV. Who knows if this will end up on a mixtape or his upcoming I Am Not A Human Being II album. Stay tuned for the tagless version.
Wiz Khalifa – Work Hard Play Hard
This is the first single off of Wiz’s new album O.N.I.F.C. Wiz decided to release a traditional first single; it has a poppy, melodic chorus that everyone is going to like, but the verses are definitely stronger than what I heard on Rolling Papers. He made a great beat selection; it was produced by Stargate (“Black and Yellow”) and it bangs! What’s reassuring is that Wiz can actually still spit bars (even as good as his Show and Prove days) and not just restrict himself to a “weed rapper”. Listen to the song below.

Jadakiss – Paper Tags (feat. Wale, Styles P & French Montana)
The first leak off Jada’s upcoming mixtape, Consignment. Jahlil Beats on the production (he will be all over Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 2); with French on the hook (would have been dope if he had a verse, it’s all good though). To be honest, Styles has the hardest verse on here. Wale was solid, but he just always says the occasional corny bar that makes it hard to take him serious (“If pussy was music, I would have Lollapalooza groupies”…exactly). This is just a sample of what’s to come; look out for the tape dropping in 4 days.
New Jadakiss Mixtape “Consignment” Drops April 27th

Finally a new tape from Kiss, his first release since I Love You. Jada isn’t an artist that just puts out music all the time, so you already know this tape is highly anticipated. Here is what he recently said about the project: “I’m giving you that crack on the arm. That’s why it’s Consignment. It ain’t like I’m just giving you some garbage; I’m giving you that crack. I’m giving it to you. Take that, bubble for awhile, come back and cop that album after you get right off this Consignment.”
Should be crazy, drops in just 8 days!
Peep the track list for Consignment below:
Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre & Tupac @ Coachella x Cam’ron – UnLost Files
Check out this video of Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar performing “The Recipe” live at Coachella 2012. We posted this song a couple weeks ago, and I immediately thought it was dope. It’s crazy to see a legend like Dre co-signing one of the most talented rappers on the East Coast right now. In other news, Cam’ron announced via twitter that he will be releasing a new track every day for the next 30 days (except weekends), as part of his UnLost Files series. Be on the look out!
Coachella also made history by having a hologramic version of Tupac perform some classics, as well as a track with Snoop. Dope.
French Montana – Smoke & Drank (feat. Mac Miller)
First leak off #CokeBoys3! These two have been in the studio recently, which is interesting because they have two distinct styles. They both rap over a smooth, jazzy beat (still need to find out who produced it!) and Mac sings on the hook, which is of course an ode to smoking and drinking. I’m proud of Mac for gaining respect in the game, working with artists like French, Cam’ron and Weezy. Look out for Coke Boys 3, which drops Thursday at midnight! Listen to the song HERE!
Here is a video of the two in the studio recently (sippin’ dat lean)
Coke Boys – Stylin’ On You Official Music Video
In anticipation of Coke Boys 3 dropping in the next few weeks, this track (originally off Coke Boys 2) has gotten the visual treatment. The video features French Montana, Flip, and Chinx Drugz, and combines a psychedelic club atmosphere with some skyline shots of NYC. The production is dope as always, thanks to Mr. Harry Fraud. Get ready for #CokeBoys3 to drop soon, it is in the final stages of mixing!
Kendrick Lamar – The Recipe (feat Dr. Dre)
After finding out K. Dot and Dre were working together in the studio, I knew they were going to cook up something dope. The track features a West Coast legend and one of the best rappers out splitting verses, with some smoove production by Scoop DeVille. Great track overall (it was originally called “Women, Weed, and Weather”); for those who haven’t heard Kendrick, definitely cop his Section.80 album. I can’t wait to hear what he has coming out in the future, he’s one of the most unique and lyrical cats in the game.
Ace Hood – Starvation (Mixtape)
Ace is a slept on cat. A lot of people have ignored him (me included), but he deserves to be recognized with this new tape. I can only imagine how much better his exposure would be if he had someone like Ross co-signing him instead of Khaled. It’s all good though. The production on here is great, with names like The Renegades, The Runners, and Monarch (who I haven’t heard before, but he’s dope). A couple of my favorites from the tape below, if you like what you hear download it HERE.
