The “No Antidote Tour” starring Two Fresh & Nit Grit has come to an end. For those Two Fresh fans out there that didn’t make it to any of the stops, Elm and Oak has released a gnarly video recapping the tour. To make things even better, the footage has been complimented with one of their unreleased tracks titled “Galapagos’d”. The video features pro skateboarders, a visit to Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, and a ton of other sick shit. Well, what are you waiting for? Peep it!
Who is Empty Boy? Apparently whoever he is, he’s out there and he’s embarking on a world tour? I found this video on youtube today and it left me confused, wondering who is this Empty Boy? I did some intel and uncovered that “Empty Boy” is a single off of Ed Banger Records’ Artist “Krazy Baldhead“ . Check out the video that shows the “Empty Boy” logo being placed everywhere. Be ready for Empty Boy.
Cypress Hill & Rusko’s digital album comes out June 4th, the first single “Roll it, Light it” was a solid track with more of a dubstep feel to it, while “Lez Go” has more of an electronic sound to it compared to most Rusko tracks. Not as many wobbles – just a spacey synth, but that doesn’t mean this song doesn’t knock, with Travis Barker killing it on the drums this song is pretty official. The visuals are mediocre, just live footage of the dudes performing together; but its all good the song makes up for it! Check out the music video for Cypress Hill & Rusko “Lez Go” (Feat. Travis Barker) below:
After months without releasing music, Passion Pit comes back with a upbeat, catchy, electronic track with feel good MGMT like vibes. The poppy synths fit perfectly with Michael Angelakos vocals on the track. July 24th is the set date for Passion Pit’s second album, Gossamer, to drop and if it sounds like “Take A Walk” it is bound to do as well as their first album. Listen to Passion Pit’s “Take A Walk” below, and be ready for their second album Gossamer to drop on July 24th!
Using only an iPad, watch Ernest Greene; more commonly referred to as Washed Out, the ambient lo-fi, chill-wave musician, perform his track “New Theory” in the back of a taxi cab in his home state of Georgia. This really shows how much technology has improved over the years, and how easy it really is nowadays if you have the right tools. Peep the video below:
Vacationer is the perfect spring time, feel good band for a shitty case of the Mondays. The mysteriously relaxing group creates chill indie rock filled with hip hop sampling and drums at times, while during other songs they’ll have vocal harmonies similar to Good Old War or Crosby, Stills and Nash. Also the frequently placed spacey, reverberated vocal harmonies and trip hop like production give the songs a more ambient/ trippy feel (Like Phantogram) and will easily make you nod your head. Vacationer is from Philadelphia, but besides that and the fact that Chet Faker, and Kenny Vasoli (Bass player/ Vocals for The Starting Line) are in the band, everything else is pretty unknown about the four. For example, who are the other two dudes in the band? If anybody has an idea on who they are let us know in our comments section asap. Check out the tight music video for Vacationer’s “Good As New” below, and listen to their debut album Gone for free on Spotifyhere now, and buy it on iTunes here!
Sometimes I find myself aimlessly searching through soundcloud to find new material, and occasionally stumble across new material that sticks out to me. Earlier today, I located this mix by somebody who goes by The Wolf, who has a lot of talent with their mixes. The Forest mix, which can be listened below, offers a variety of tunes from Asap Rocky to Phantogram to Gucci Mane and so on. This mix is definitely worth a listen, check it out below.
XXYYXX releases the music video for “About You” filled with biddies, blunts, record players, animal masks and smoke. Mad cool feel for the track and visuals, trippy slow motion edited shots with color correction that create a euphoric journey for the listener. “About You” syncs in perfect time with the song to make an intresting combination, and create an overall masterpiece. Check it out below, and listen to all XXYYXX’s music on his bandcamp page, here.
The Bloody Beetroots have been making the thrashiest electro for quite some time now. All of their remixes are so fucking ill. I first heard about them through the song “Cornelius” which is a weird song but somehow is really awesome. Their first remix I heard was a sick Timbaland remix. Anyway, this time they remix the amazing Brooklyn rapper, Theophilus London(who just recently did a track with fellow New Yorker ASAP ROCKY ). There’s been a ton of buzz surrounding Theophilus and after hearing his flow on this I can definitely see why. This remix is so ridiculously funky and chill. Sara Quinn’s vocals make for such a dope response to Theophilus’ buttery verses over the funky futuristic sounds. It makes me feel like I’m driving in a topless Ferarri 458 Italia through California along the coast to a bomb party… while smoking a blunt. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to day dream.
I’ve never heard of this band before tonight. My first impression of this band was through “Obedear” (don’t ask me how to pronounce it) and I immediately became a fan. The hip hoppy drums fit oh so well underneath the singer’s chilled out spacey vocals. They’ve got a super chill vibe to em. I did a little bit of research and found out that the duo hail from Canada and are consisted of members Corin Roddick and Megan James. Corin Roddick is an amazing producer and live instrumentalist while Megan James voice is incredibly hypnotizing. Their debut album “Shrines” drops on 7/24/2012. Be sure to check out Purity Ring‘s live performance of their hit “Lofticries” below.
Corin uses some sort of weird custom rig that looks pretty fucking cool.
