Hip-Hop

Here is Lupe’s new single off of Food and Liquor 2.  Definitely a drastic turn from the formula he used on Lasers; abandoning his “poppy” sound and returning to his traditional roots.  Lupe touches on a variety of controversial topics (war, poverty, etc.) as well as exhibiting the playful lyricism that gained him so many fans.  It has a classic hip-hop sound, sampling Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y”.  Can’t wait for this album to drop.

The “No Antidote Tour” starring Two Fresh & Nit Grit has come to an end. For those Two Fresh fans out there that didn’t make it to any of the stops, Elm and Oak has released a gnarly video recapping the tour. To make things even better, the footage has been complimented with one of their unreleased tracks titled “Galapagos’d”. The video features pro skateboarders, a visit to Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, and a ton of other sick shit. Well, what are you waiting for? Peep it!

Cypress Hill & Rusko’s digital album comes out June 4th, the first single “Roll it, Light it” was a solid track with more of a dubstep feel to it, while “Lez Go” has more of an electronic sound to it compared to most Rusko tracks. Not as many wobbles – just a spacey synth, but that doesn’t mean this song doesn’t knock, with Travis Barker killing it on the drums this song is pretty official. The visuals are mediocre, just live footage of the dudes performing together; but its all good the song makes up for it! Check out the music video for Cypress Hill & Rusko “Lez Go” (Feat. Travis Barker) below:

A$AP Rocky is killin’ it lately, with summer right around the corner and his debut album dropping in July he is seriously making moves. Last week he dropped his ill visuals for “Goldie”, the first single off LongLiveASAP, today he drops the music video for the feel good hit “Street Knock” that features that Pretty Motherfucka himself and Swizz Beatz, the hyphy instrumental was produced by AraabMuzik. The music video features a sexy red car, drum lines, dope shots of the two chillin’ in NYC, cameos of Allen Iverson, Jadakiss, and other tough shit. Peep “Street Knock” below, now!

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) recently dropped a video for “Made You Die” a track dedicated to the murder of Trayvon Martin over Nas’s classic “Made You Look”. The song features Dead Prez‘s M-1, Mike Flo, and Yasiin Bey spitting verses about the Trayvon Martin controversy and help celebrate his life through lyrics and music. Its cool to see musicians standing up for what they feel is right and speaking their minds. Check out the music video below for “Made You Die

Notice the hoodies the 3 MCs are wearing.

50 cent was one of my favorite rappers when I was in middle school. I mean everyone loves “Get Rich or Die Tryin”. I still like some newer 50 cent every now and then but I’m not really trying to go out of my way to listen to it. Anyway I was on soundcloud today and heard this collab he just put out with 1st wave west coast OG, Snoop Dogg and female rapper Precious Paris. The beat has that dope New York 2000′s vibe. Hip hop veterans Snoop and 50 do what they do best on this track. I really hope 50 puts out more stuff like this soon.

23 year old, Asap Rocky is living the dream right now. He just played Coachella not too long ago in California and now he’s got this dope video in Paris with some help from all of his closest homies, fashion designers and fine women. I just watched the behind the scenes footage of the making of “Goldie” not to long ago and I was definitely impressed. Naked models, antique cars, weed and the Eiffel Tower. Damn, this video is balling. The video for “Goldie” also shows Asap dressed like a king chilling with his crew and of course, smoking the finest of herb. He also wears his sunglasses at night  while cruising the streets of Paris with his homie in a classic foreign car. Doesn’t get much better than that. Long Live A$AP.

Hip Hop is a masterpiece but nobody painted it all”

This mashup is trill as fuck. A$AP Rocky‘s “Peso” and Purity Ring‘s “Obedear” mix together perfectly to create an epic song. The Hood Internet have been around for a while now, but this may be my favorite track by them yet. Listen to and download The Hood Internet’s “Pesobedear” below:

Also: Check out the dubstep remix to A$AP Rocky’s “Peso” below by Vaski. Vaski is an up and comer to the dubstep genre, but after checking out his Soundcloud I know now he is hella talented and picks great songs to remix:
