Mashup

This mashup is trill as fuck. A$AP Rocky‘s “Peso” and Purity Ring‘s “Obedear” mix together perfectly to create an epic song. The Hood Internet have been around for a while now, but this may be my favorite track by them yet. Listen to and download The Hood Internet’s “Pesobedear” below:

Also: Check out the dubstep remix to A$AP Rocky’s “Peso” below by Vaski. Vaski is an up and comer to the dubstep genre, but after checking out his Soundcloud I know now he is hella talented and picks great songs to remix:

This mashup screams summertime, two of my favorite artists of all time, Sublime and RJD2 blend together perfectly on this mashup and make a shitty Thursday a little bit brighter. RJD2‘s “Ghostwriter” has an epic feel to it once the horns come in, so with Brad Nowell’s piercing vocals singing the classic feel good anthem (nope, not “Summertime”)”What I Got” the blend is dope as hell. Listen to and download FreeEar‘s epic mashup “What I Ghost” below, now:

Dylan Sieh, or Tumblewoof, is a creative 20 year old producer/ DJ from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He has a very eccentric taste in music and the way he combines songs together is completely raw. He goes the Girl Talk way about making songs and creates five minute musical masterpieces, that conjoin many different songs and genres all into one track. M▲JOR features music from Kanye West to Blink 182 to The Temptations. This dude seriously has a sick imagination musically, it is one of the best mashup mixtapes I’ve heard in a while. My personal favorite track off this is “&forever” which, half way through the song, mashes together Weezy’s “Forever” verse and Radiohead’s “Reckoner” instrumental- it is breathtakingly cool. So check out Tumblewoof’s M▲JOR mixtape below, and download it on his Bandcamp page (Check out “&forever” there).

At first glance, this project honestly looked really lame to me. Not the biggest fan of Bruce Springsteen besides a few classics, and Rick Ross is nothing special to me either (Every time he says “Huhh” it sounds like hes getting up off a couch). But after listening to this perfectly produced mixtape done by Jonathan Lee I was taken back. The creative instrumentals on this mixtape are really something else, the way he built up the intro to Ross’s verse for “I’m On One” on the track “Born To Run” was epic. I am really diggin’ Jonathan Lee’s Boss vs. Boss (Rick Ross vs Bruce Springsteen) mixtape, it has a unique style of sampling done for all the instrumentals and the Bawss‘s verses mash together perfectly with the emotional, complex beats. Check out the mixtape in its entirety on his Soundcloud, and download it here. Check out “Born To Run” off Jonathan Lee’s Boss vs Boss (Rick Ross vs Bruce Springsteen) mixtape below:

Madlib is a production god, and an overall musical genius so when i saw he made a mashup with MF Doom and Jadakiss i knew shit was about to get real. The first instrumental for Doom’s “My Melody” verse is a funky, MF Doom like beat with its jazzy drums and dope keyboards. Half way through the track the beat switches up for Jadakiss’s “Run” verse, and when it drops it is really something else, a simple yet epic instrumental that sounds perfect with Jadakiss‘s raspy voice over it. Awesome song by one of the most underrated producers of all time, listen to the dope new track below and make sure to cop the album when it drops March 1st, 2012:

Of all people, I don’t know why they asked ESPN‘s John Anderson to help read off the lineup for this epic gathering of amazing music, but they did. Check out the comical video below which foreshadows some of the raw talent that will perform at Bonnaroo this spring. From Bon Iver to The Beach Boys, and Skrillex to Mac Miller this thing is packed with talent. The 4-day festival is set to take place June 7th – 10th in Manchester, TN. I wish more than anything I could go to it, Bonnaroo is easily one of the best festivals in America, each and every year. Unlike Ultra Music Festival, it has all sorts of genre’s performing not just mainly one (Electronic for Ultra). So check out the video below, and if you got the cash/time (around $250) go cop your tickets here NOW.

So, as i say sort of frequently, we definitely are slacking on mash up posts. Here is a new mashup mixtape by an awesome, creative group called Super Mash Bros. They are like Girl Talk or D.Veloped the way they make music, they don’t just put two songs together but multiple ones. Awesome mixtape so listen to it now. Download the Mile(y) High Club mixtape here on Super Mash Bros. Facebook page, and listen to the single off it below:

Its been a good day for music so far, to say the least. Two insanely dope mixtapes, first D.Veloped’s Work: Party Mix and now an epic dubstep / mashup Bassnectar mixtape!? Too tough. Not much more needs to be said besides listen to Bassnectar’s Amorphous Music Mixtape Vol. 7 right now, it not only has some new music by him, but it is all in all a mad legit listen. Bump to Bassnectar’s extremely well produced mashup/ dubstep mixtape below:

Bassnectar – Amorphous Music Mixtape Vol 7 by Bassnectar

I don’t know if you guys remember, but a couple months back i posted about this upcoming mashup artist D.Veloped and how much of a beast he was. I showed you a couple of his songs, but here is an entire free mix for download you should be listening to right now. It is so dope how he uses multiple genres in this hella sick, 40 minute long mix. For real, this guy has mad talent and you will notice that after you listen to the Work: Party Mixtape below, i mean he starts the mix off the Workaholics theme song- can’t get much better then that. Check out the track list for the Work: Party mix below and listen / download the mixtape as well.

Finally, another cool mashup mixtape. On King Of Compton you’ll hear the Kings Of Leon mashed together perfectly with some classic west coast rap (some songs feature Eminem as well). This is for the listeners who may not be comfortable enough to listen to Kings Of Leon amongst their friends. Minneapolis emcee/producer Ecid samples the interesting guitar licks as well as the memorable harmonies of their voices and turns them into completely new sounding tracks. After creating the sample driven instrumentals he then threw the lyrics of Dr. Dre, N.W.A, Snoop Dogg and others onto the songs for the perfect combination. Listen to the Kings Of Compton mixtape now below.

“The idea for this project basically came as I was hanging out with my friend Chuck U, brainstorming my next creative endeavor and he convinced me I should do a mash-up album. Since I rap and make all my own beats for my other projects, sometimes my own production gets over-looked by the rapping so I really wanted something that would challenge me production-wise, but could also showcase my style. After we tossed around different combinations I joked “shit, why not Kings Of Leon and NWA?” and right away the light bulb went on and we came up with Kings Of Compton.” -Ecid
