Remixes

The Bloody Beetroots have been making the thrashiest electro for quite some time now. All of their remixes are so fucking ill. I first heard about them through the song “Cornelius” which is a weird song but somehow is really awesome. Their first remix I heard was a sick Timbaland remix. Anyway, this time they remix  the amazing Brooklyn rapper, Theophilus London (who just recently did a track with fellow New Yorker ASAP ROCKY ). There’s been a ton of buzz surrounding Theophilus and after hearing his flow on this I can definitely see why. This remix is so ridiculously funky and chill. Sara Quinn’s vocals make for such a  dope response to Theophilus’ buttery verses over the funky futuristic sounds.  It makes me feel like I’m driving in a topless Ferarri 458 Italia through California along the coast to a bomb party… while smoking a blunt. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to day dream.

I had my doubts about this remix when I first read the title, but man were those doubts gone a few seconds into this song. This is a song that should’ve been in that movie “Drive” with Ryan Gosling. It totally has that cool 80′s sound that was popular in Miami. Now I did some research and turns out that Virgin Magnetic Material is a remix project started by Shai Vardi from Israel. His nu disco remixes have come a long way in the past year. I checked out some of his other work and he’s got his style down. Definitely hit the nail on the head with this one.

Everybody from the 90′s knows “The Fresh Prince” theme by heart. It’s classic. Well, this nostalgic remix bridges the gap from old sitcom days to straight modern moombahcore. Mad electronic music producer’s have been jumping into the moombahton game lately. For those who don’t know, moobahton is a summer club genre inspired by Dutch house and reggaeton with some dubstep thrown in there. Now, I don’t listen to as much dubstep as I used too so I’ve never heard of J. Rabbit but he absolutely kills it in this fun moombahton remix. Hear for yourself.  Soon available as a free download!

France’s Martin Solveig  and New York based A-Trak team up for this incredible remix.. These guys are both international DJ’s riding the EDM craze right now. I mean A-Trak was on last month’s cover of Billboard magazine alongside Skrillex and Diplo. Anyway, this is a traditional dance track with a fat kick drum and girly vocals. In it A-trak shows us why he has won 5 world DJ championships. The drop is incredible.

I don’t know a whole lot about Chicago based Midnight Conspiracy or who they are, but what I do know is that their music fucking rules. They or he or she have a killer combination of rhythmic dubstep, electro and house that’s just immensely intoxicating. I just listened to every track on their soundcloud page and they’re all mint. They just released a a collection of remixes to their single with Lucky Date called ”Veyron (Night Version)”. Checked ‘em out and I really enjoyed the Bassex version. Anyway, ”Veyron” is an extremely catchy, almost psychedelic, synth and bass driven dubstep groove that just has an overall awesome vibe to it . You’re bound to have “come dance with me, come dance with me” stuck in your head, in a good way, that is. The video is quality too and to be honest I’m surprised it has under 5k views! Oh yeah, did I mention you can download “Veyron (Night Version)” for free? Purchase the remixes here.
