These two brief music-related documentaries dropped over the course of the past week, and both are extremely dope. The first is a documentary that was conducted by The Fader on Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era’s BeastCoastal Tour recapping the events that went down over the past couple of months. The sixteen-minute film features fellow NYC natives Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers, footage from live shows and backstage hang outs, as well as typical shenanigans you would expect any twenty-something-year old to do while living the tour life.  Peep the awesome visuals below to see what happen on the BeastCoastal Tour;

Up next is a short film depicting Skrillex‘ trip to Mexico and the journey he and his team went on during the final week of 2012. Below you can watch performances from Skrillex, 12th Planet, Zedd, and Nadastrom along with behind-the-scene footage of the artists chillin and acting down to earth. I was unfamilar that Mexico was as into EDM as us Americans but after watching the documentary below it is clear to me i was wrong because they get rowdy (as 12th Planet would say). For starters, this tune is so high in demand that Pete Tong had to play multiple samples and manipulate the track so small time, disrespectful DJ’s don’t try to rip the 128Kbps YouTube quality song and use it in their sets. Can’t say this isn’t typical Hardwell with the soft female vocal, compliments to Krewella, and melodic entry to a climactic build. Oh, and not to mention a big-room drop designed to fill arenas and festivals across the nations. I wish there had been more an originality aspect with the drop considering he as well as many other artists are going for that sound that has made W&W so famous, for example “Thunder” & “White Label”. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome sound and can be used in thousands of ways, but when it comes to Hardwell, I would expect more from the contestant #1 DJ in the world.

Upcoming west coast rapper / producer Joey Fatts is slowly but surely gaining momentum on his path to hip-hop stardom. The Long Beach-bred emcee has produced cuts for A$AP Rocky, SchoolBoy Q and a handful of other prominent rappers in the game, and is currently signed to ASAP Yam$ (Rocky’s manager) independent record label Yamborgini Records and is set to release his new mixtape Chipper Jones Volume 2 next week on May 28th. Insanely talented Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth released a fire EP yesterday entitled Still Awake and it features a handful of his original abstract instrumentals. Hemsworth never fails in creating emotional, fresh new tunes that are always pushing the boundaries between hip-hop and electronic music. Get your double cups and sizzurp poured, don’t forget to turn the speakers up. “Guild” features verses by Earl Sweatshirt and Mac Miller with pitched down vocals to give them that lean sippin’ type of sound for all you Houston-heads out there. Earl kind of sounds like his older brother Tyler, the Creator during his flows due to the pitched down almost evil sounding vocals but with a more witty, lyrical approach while Mac goes in with his familiar syrup-induced lyricism. The track is set to drop on Earl’s forthcoming album Doris, which still has no release date but still is heavily anticipated by OFWGKTA fans all over. Black Hippy recently got together to put their own touch on “U.O.E.N.O.“-  west coast style. This remix goes in, which is usually the case for these four emcees. Some more news regarding the West Coast hip-hop group, according to Peter Rosenberg of New York’s Hot.97, Top Dawg Entertainment has signed another emcee to the roster (alongside Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, & Jay Rock). GKMC Tour Promo;

The Underachievers have decided to drop a new track for fans to marinate on until the release of their upcoming project Chapter 23. Apparently, ”May’s Patience” won’t be featured on the duo’s upcoming mixtape, which is set to release sometime this summer, but regardless of where the cut will be featured it bumps. An overall blissful vibe on the track accompanied by ill flows by both emcees, and of course a hard-hitting quality beat; this track brings the typical UA-energy that’s impossible to not nod your head to.
